Apparently you’re supposed to dip the markers in water?! I saw a vid of someone doing that a while ago and they worked flawlessly… ofc it could’ve been fake but I think it’s worth trying

Ok so I got a set for an art class I was teaching and low-key never got one of those sets and always wanted one so finally just bought one myself. I haven’t tried the markers yet other than to just make sure they weren’t dry just the water colors. I tried them on water color paper and they were okay. What you would expect from a set like this. I got the one in the wooden box instead of the plastic box because I needed more water colors and oil pastels. I am going to try the water dipping to see if they will work better.

My kid literally asked for one of those 20 minutes ago while in Walmart. She’s got 2 of them already :joy:

Gosh its been so long that I’ve even seen one of these sets in person (like 15-20 years)! With that being said i had ones targeted for children (I’m not sure if they have adult ones).

but here’s my notes from what I remember:

-I remember the paint being kinda bad compared to other paint “pallets". I didn’t like how “solid" they were. I liked the ones that were more “shiny" from the dollar general. But I might have not known how to properly use the paint the kits have.

-The oil pastels were definitely my favorite!

- The crayons and colored pencils were kinda hit on miss (depending on the brand)

- The 2 things beside the sharpener and eraser… I have no idea what they are lol.

-the markers, they ones that worked, worked very well but I had a lot that were dried out. But as I stated previously, apparently you were supposed to dip them in water. But as a 5 year old, i didn’t know that

I can also probably say that my parents probably got me the cheapest one possible

I hope this helps to some degree. Sorry I haven’t had any recent experience with one of these.
