A science teacher at my husband’s middle school is making a solar system with foam balls. My husband mentioned that what it really needed was this item to complete the scene. Both teachers looked at the planet system, and agreed. After a confident “my wife can make that" statement, I was commissioned/conscripted. It was fun to make. I only had one late evening, or I would’ve added in more detail.
I made it around a foam ball so I could more easily sink in the dish.

Well, I gerrymandered the dish part a bit because i really wanted it to sink in rather than just have a circle plastered on top like all the other patterns for it online. I dont even know what size foam ball it was, as it was spare from the science teacher’s display.
I wasn’t going to make an official pattern out of it, but I probably will make one more as I’m sure the science teacher will want one as my husband is only giving it on loan while the display is up. I could wip up a pattern for you if you like, but there wont be pics till then.

I love it!! Maybe adding a few embroidered lines down with the dark color? It’s recognizable on its own though, great job.
