Questions about Loaf Cats

I want to make a loaf cat to look like my dad’s cat for Christmas, and I’m hoping for some help.

  1. What free pattern do you prefer for making loaf cats? There are so many, I’m kinda getting overwhelmed.
  2. What colors/yarn do you use? My local Michaels is all out of Bernat Blanket yarn, so that’s out, and it has to be from Michaels (don’t ask).
    Our cat is sleeping in a dark corner, so I can’t get a good picture, but he looks like this cat, only a bit darker on his back.

I like to use bernat blanket yarn for plushies, maybe you could find the right colors using that yarn? Good luck!!!

His name is Xiovi, pronounced Choni, which is Greek for Snow.

Please forgive the fact that he looks a bit sad, he is grieving for our dog who passed a few days ago.

Im so sorry about your dog, your cats remind me of mine. His name is Winter Winny for short and he weights around 40lbs. Hes a very big boy.

Oh wow, I think you have my Xiovi’s twin!!! I don’t know his exact weight, but he is somewhere between 20 - 30lbs, so definitely a big boy. I’ve never seen another flamepoint quite so similar to him before!

Maybe a bit too peachy. But idk because I am really picky about color. I’m so sorry about your dog, and I think your cat looks adorable.
