Jayme: Hi @kenna27 You have been selected as the very first Ribblr Of The Week Junior! How did you learn how to crochet/ knit; and what got you hooked?
@ kcrochet: Yay thank you so much for picking me! I learned to knit first, about 3 years ago. My friend taught me. Then shortly after, I self-taught myself how to crochet. With some help from my aunt and grandma, I was off!! But what really got me hooked was the finished results. The cute designs and fluffy stitches, I love so much!!
Jayme: What are you most proud of that you have made?
@ kcrochet:The thing that I am most proud of is actually 2 things!! One of them is a giant sticky hand. (Thanks so much to @Crochetbyjayne for the pattern!) I entered it into the art fair, and almost got the best of show! My second favorite is probably a massive, fluffy, free-handed Vaporeon! It’s so soft and cuddly, and only took 18 balls of yarn, 2 pounds of stuffing, and 40mm safety eyes!
Jayme: What do you like to do besides crafts?
@kcrochet: One of the other things I like to do besides crocheting is dance and theater! I’m on the school dance team this year, as well as this year’s play (Too Many Detectives at Murder Mansion) and musical. (Newsies)
Jayme: What was your very first crochet project?
@kcrochet: My very first (amigurumi) project was a pink bee I made 3 years ago. I was so proud of it, even though the magic ring is coming loose. My first ever project was a bracelet I made when I was 6 after my aunt taught me how to chain. I was so proud of myself!
Jayme: How many WIP’s do you have?
@kcrochet: Simplest answer: Too Many.
Jayme: Any current patterns in the making?
@kcrochet: Right now, there are too many. The main ones, though, are some of the Eevee-evolutions, Jolteon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Sylveon, and Eevee. I’m also working on some other Pokémon, like Cleffa and Plusle, as well as starting seasonal patterns!
Jayme: Favorite hook / yarn size?
@kcrochet: I love my 5mm hook! It’s done about every project with me, and was one of my first hooks. It was one I had before I even started crocheting, it was my mom’s. And I love size 5 / 6 yarn, so chenille, basically! Thank you so much for choosing me!
Jayme: Of course! Everyone please give her some love and support by following her and her shop and see you next week!!
