One of my gerbils has sadly passed away. His name was oreo and he has a brother is called caramel. Oreo had a stroke, enabling him from using one side of his body. I put him a seperate cage from his brother caramel so he didn’t accidentally hurt him. His paw and leg started to bleed and his ear was clogged with earwax. His eyes would normally be stuck shut. This all happened a day after he had a stroke. On the second day after, he couldn’t even move. I had to hand feed him and give him water, even help him go to the toilet. On the third day after, he was just about beginning to crawl around. He was in constant pain and every day, I would get more and more upset and devastated. I then decided that he needed to be put to sleep (euthanasia). I buried him in my garden with a spot beside him where caramel can go once he dies. Because of how sad I am and I want to mourn, I won’t be testing any patterns so if I’m a priority tester, I can’t do it. I will be doing any collabs or art competitions that I’m in still. If you have any suggestions on how to accept his death and continue living my life without the sadness of hus loss, please tell me! Thank you for any support. I’ll miss you Oreo!
(I don’t need to explain which gerbil is which, the colours make it obvious)

This is so sad the way I deal with loss is staying busy. Most people sit around thinking of what they lost. But the best thing is to say I love you and you mean a lot, and I know you wouldn’t want me to be so upset, you’d want me to be happy. So you go find things like chores or a project. When your thoughts drift to it, just smile and say he’s super happy in the place where gerbils go when they die. It’s gonna be hard, trust me. But the best thing is to stay busy.
I hope this helps! So sorry for your loss.
