Seeking: dupe yarn

Listen, call me crazy, but I absolutely LOVE how red heart jumbo speckle in bubblegum speckle works up. The soft baby pink with those vibrant vibrant speckles of turquoise, marigold, red, and purple is absolutely :clap:stunning:clap: I don’t even mind how still if is depending on what I’m making—it has a lot of structure and stitch definition which can be great for amigurumi.

BUT—I would love a higher quality alternative for when I need a softer yarn. Preferably in worsted (4) weight, but I could make DK (3) work, too! Acrylic/acrylic blend or other synthetic would probably be good so I match my other ami yarn, though if someone finds a nice natural fiber they wouldn’t have to twist my arm very hard to convince me to work up a garment :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I’ve been searching! I can’t find anything remotely similar! Has anyone sniffed one out?

Honey Bunny Candy and Premier Basic Mosaic seem to be matching the color pattern best, but I’m guessing that specific combination and pattern are unique to Red Heart.

That’s what I’m afraid of! Those options are very cute, I’ve seen a lot of the “fleck” yarn recently and I’ve picked up a couple skeins to experiment with.

the premier option is gorgeous and in the right color family, but too homogenous too homogenous for what I’m looking for

I don’t know the answer to your question

But I did want to say I totally agree with you about how amazing those colours are together when worked up. They look nice enough in the skein, but somehow so much nicer when in use

Personally, I just rediscovered Red Heart Super Saver myself and fell in love with it

I went from a yarn I got that had next to no stitch definition a d replaced it with Super Saver. The difference is huge how much better Super Saver is.

I’ve tried 2 of the solid colours so far and both colours are so bright and vibrant and just perfect really

My current sweater I’m making with it is looking exactly how I want it to. And I’m crocheting a sweater for less expensive than I could buy a sweater in a store. And machine washable and dryable.

I think I just fell in love with this yarn.

I do highly recommend the color way. It also has a nice Robbin’s egg blue with similar vibrant speckles that is really nice! It is a bit scratchier than most of the other red heart I I have used; the solid colors tend to be a little fluffier than this one, so beware if you’re trying it for a wearable. You could probably hold it double with a softer acrylic with a similar pink color if the texture doesn’t feel good on your skin, though?
