Skein is just a “ball” of yarn. your average yarn, sort of oval-shaped.

i hate the word skein with a passion but i say it like “green”

I normally just call it a ball of yarn :yarn: but when reading the word I say it like Green

Actually, I think I struggle between the two when reading it, but finally say it like grain. Always say it like grain in conversation.
