I don’t know how, but I could feel the Keys getting mad at me. And suddenly, I was thrust out of the room and into a portal. I first noticed that the Keys had no hold on me now and that Larissa was no longer with me. I frantically looked around me looking for her. When I couldn’t find her, I tried going back, but the force was too strong.
I’m thrown in front of a pyramid in the middle of a swamp. Crocodiles swarm in the waters in front of me and a dog is by my side. From what I can tell, he looks like a German Shepherd. He is very serious looking and does not acknowledge my presence. He looks at me with deep blue eyes, unwavering and soul searching.
“You had better watch out…” he said, but his mouth did not move and he spoke in my mind.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“A creature named Ao Yin, haunts this swamp. He feeds on human flesh and you look like easy pickings.”
I looked around me, trying to see if I could see Ao Yin before continuing on.
“Where are we?”
“The Swamp between the Sands of Time. Any direction you go, you will always come across a desert.”
“Why am I here?”
“Huang Long has sent you here. Or at least one of his servants has…”
“Why are you so eager to answer my questions?”
“I was sent here as banishment. Huang Long sent me here and I’ve been trying to help other people who are trapped here.”
