Story time

So this is a story I wrote…
It’s inspired by a dream i had and yeah.

I found myself in a great ballroom with quartz columns all along the sides. The walls were purple and the floor was swirling with red and purple. At the end of the ballroom, there was a small amount of stairs leading to a heightened platform. On the platform was a throne, red and gold with white highlights. I was standing marveling at it all when I noticed my sister, Larissa, standing next to me.

We walked to the center of the ballroom spinning in the wonder of it all. Suddenly, I see a huge silhouette in the hallway on the far end of the ballroom. It was big and burly but I was yet to discover the horrors that it really is.

It stepped out into the light and I saw a black boot, red pants, a black belt with a golden buckle, a red jacket with white faux fur. Then I saw a fluffy white beard, rosy cheeks, and a red hat with a white pom pom at the end. It was Santa!

“What are you doing here?” he boomed.

Both me and my sister were shocked to see this legendary figure.

Even louder he asked, “What are you doing here?!”. The columns shook and dust fell from the ceiling.

My sister and I ran for what? I couldn’t tell you. We just knew we had to get away from this man.

Unfortunately, he knew his workshop better than us. He was on us in two jumps of an elf. Santa got in front of us and pushed us back to the ballroom. There were two chairs waiting for us. Larissa looked to me for guidance and I just shook my head.

Santa led us to the chairs. There were four latches, two for our wrists and two for our ankles. We couldn’t get up from the chairs. A golden circle about 6 feet, as tall as Santa, rolled into the room. He caught it with his hand. In his other hand, was a key. He slid it onto one of the spirals in the golden circle. And all of a sudden, I couldn’t tear my eyes from it. Then it moved like it was alive. It slid closer to the middle and my eyelids fluttered. The key slid away from it until it was on the verge of falling off. My eyes went wide and my knuckles went white. I couldn’t close my eyelids. It went back and forth like that for quite some time, and I was helpless to it. Sometimes, it would go so close to the middle, where my head would fall and jump back up.

I heard a door open, but could do nothing to acknowledge it. As much as I tried, I couldn’t move my head an inch. I heard footsteps and Santa stopped his devious look towards us and looked over to who opened the door. The key fell off the spiral and I was able to look over to who it was. It was my other sister Elizabeth, and she was holding a pair of golden wings that could fit on the spiral. She threw it and it landed perfectly. Santa tried to tear it off, but it wouldn’t budge.

“Fine,” he said, “We’ll have a good fair competition.”

Elizabeth stared at him defiantly, determined to save us. Santa snapped his fingers and the chairs Larissa and I were sitting on disappeared. We immediately fell. Our bodies couldn’t work after all the stress they had gone through. All I could manage was standing on all fours.

I noticed that Santa rolled his eyes. He snapped his fingers again and Larissa and I were carried into the air, I couldn’t move anything. It felt like he was holding me in his hand. We were set down and suddenly, I was able to stand. I could feel the tension in the air and I didn’t try to run. Larissa did the same. I think we could both sense that if we ran, bad things would happen. So we just stood there as Santa put the key on again. And before my eyes were drawn to it again, I saw a glimpse of words under the golden wings. They said, ‘J.K. Rowling’. And I was under the spell again. Countless times did my eyes flutter and I nodded off. It was a relentless battle of push and pull. And just when I thought Elizabeth was gonna win, the key gave one more push and went all the way to the middle of the spiral. The golden wings broke and the last thing I remember is me falling back and a scream.

That was really cool! I would’ve liked more context to how all three sisters happened to be in Santa’s workshop but that was really captivating!
