Tester call for Crochet: Grandma's Cat Throw Blanket - CLOSED

I need testers for my upcoming paid ‘Grandma’s Cat Throw Blanket’ - Crochet ePattern!

Please read the full post before applying!

I’m looking for a few dedicated crafters to test out my first Ribblr crochet design. As this is a really big project with an estimated completion time of 60-80~ hours, I’m looking for crafters who can commit to a deadline, don’t mind working with single crochets, and are willing to tackle tapestry crochet!

I will choose 6 testers on Friday evening, January 2nd, 2026 if there is enough interest in the pattern.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Skills required:

  • Understanding of basic crochet stitches ( sc, ch, dc, slst, etc… )
  • Can do the mattress stitch
  • Understanding of tapestry crochet techniques (or at least, willing to learn them)
  • Knows how to read crochet graph charts

This pattern will be sold for $6.99 CAD when released on March 1st, 2026, and all testers will be gifted the patten when they have completed their test.

Due Date: Feb 14th, 2026 - extendable to Feb 25th, 2026.
Additional Requirements:

  • Make and keep a journal as you work, with at least one good picture.
  • Good and bad feedback. Constructive criticism is encouraged!
  • Communication. No ghosting, and please be patient! I do not have constant wifi access, so I will try to reply to messages as soon as I can!
  • Three colours ( 7 oz / 198 g skeins) are needed: 6 in a main colour, 5 in a secondary colour, and 2 in a third colour. Recommended hook size is 5.5 to match the gauge.

If you’re interested in testing, please click the photo below and let me know:

  • What colours would you use?
  • Are you a cat person? :cat:

I would love to test with petrol blue and a little bit white for one cat and brown for the other. I’m not really a cat person, but my dog is the same size  and also likes to eat fish :face_with_hand_over_mouth: I would make the blanket for my girlfriend.

Hooray! It’s here! I’m such a cat person that it’s been a key part of my personality for over 30 years. :joy: I’d have to think on the colors, but barring all else, I’d be happy to default to what you’ve used. If possible, I might do some different colors for the cats - certainly one black, but also one calico (I have a colorway in orange, white, and gray that would probably end up looking tortoiseshell) and maybe a gray or orange? Maybe I could try playing with the chart to get a tabby look? And for the background, perhaps something softer, like a light mossy green.
