Testing application suggestions

hellooo
so i think we should have a place to see what tests we apply to, so that we know if we applied or not, and if we get rejected or approved. i think it would also be great if we could cancel our application, in case we accidentally pressed the test button (could be in the same space as the test applications we have applied to)

i also see lots of people who doesn’t follow what the tester post says to write in the comments (such as types of yarn or emojis to add or smth), so maybe when we’re pressing the photo to apply for the test there could be some fields we could fill in (eg. yarn colour, type, hook size and those kinda stuff), then the designer could filter through the applications without having to look at the comments and then select the testers that they want.
ty for listening to me yap lolll

yess i think this is such a good idea! bc i never know when I have been accepted or not and I have to keep constantly checking and checking! A list of things that we have applied for would be great! we would be able to see everything we have applied and make sure not over doing ourselves if we forgot about an application.

the filter part is amazingg it would make it so much easierrr!! I love this ideaa :ribbot-in-love:

that great and i have something to add when i to some of my testers to add safety eyes and use the same yarn color and also take good pics they don’t they take pics in the dark and use ugly colors and don’t use safety eyes so there must be a rules section also

Yesss!!! This is a great idea! This would be easier to choose testers lol

Also it might be nice if we get a notification if we’ve been picked or rejected cause sometimes we might not be able to know if we did get picked or not

I agree that it would be a great idea. The tester call page could be updated to include one or more pictureof the completed project. A brief description of the requirements. Due date

Then a button to see more details for the interested applicant to click. Once they click on more details, a form should generate with the following information/guestions.

A more detailed description of any tester requirements should be at the top of the form.

DUE date. (Add if any exceptions to due date will be considered

Any designer specific instructions for the piece: items that should or shouldn’t be used (i.e. must use safety eyes for this test, or specific type/weight of yarn). Also include the largest stitch count (as I see potential applicants asking that all the time)

:black_square_button: Yes please consider me for testing and tag me for release if not chosen

:black_square_button: Yes please consider me for testing but don’t tag in release if not chosen

If these buttons are selected, the form could then open the following fields:

Yarn weight: [check boxes for each weight, maybe be allowed to check 2 options]

Color 1 [either be drop down or free text]

Color 2

Color 3….

hook size: [drop down or free text]

Can you complete project, pictures, and journal by due date

:radio_button: Yes

:radio_button: No

Additional comments from applicant: [free text space]

:black_square_button: I am not able to apply at this time, but please tag me in release [leave an optional comment space so the potential tester can leave a reason they aren’t interested in testing]

:black_square_button: I am not interested at this time. [give this option instead of cancel. [This way there is a response from anyone who clicks the tester call picture] [leave an optional comment space so the potential tester can leave a reason they aren’t interested in testing]

Then if possible, to make everything circle around:

An option form for the designer could open

:black_square_button: Accepted - add to the project group chat and send notification to applicant

:black_square_button: Possible/alternate - send message to applicant that they are being considered and will receive an update once decision is finalized. (then once final decision is made)

:radio_button: Accepted - add to the project group chat and send notification to applicant

:radio_button: Not at this time, send thank you for interest to the applicant

:black_square_button: Not at this time, send thank you for interest to the applicant

I can make other suggestions on how to build this page, but do not have the required programming experience to actually build it. I would be happy to help design this area further if anyone is interested.

Yess I love this idea!! There have been a few that I apply to but don’t get, and I’m just waiting for it to close so I can confirm I didn’t get it… to do so I have to go to the testing space and find that tester call, see if it’s closed, then I know. It’d be super great if I could see just by looking at my applications! Like an application history! I think it’d be a good idea to add it as another tab in the area where the testing library is, in “my stuff”, on the “userrname” part!

great idea!

what i’m hearing is that a lot of people want a testing tab where they can filter through available tests, apply easily, etc :)

This type of update could also be made in conjunction with the designers’ discussion on possible testing limits. It might help us all from applying to too many at a time and either getting none, to getting accepted for all.

These ideas are great! I think the designer post for testing and this side of the discussion should come together to make one complete suggestion to make one testing overhaul suggestion that would suit everyone!

Love these ideas for the tester side of things tho!

I agree, as I tester I’d also like to know when I’m not chosen. That’s fine but might influence whether I can apply for other tests or not
