Similar story here. Graduated a year early at 17, but couldn’t afford to go to college. Tried working online, but the only thing I could find was freelance transcription, which pays about 7 cents for 1 audio minute - that takes about three to five minutes to transcribe. Thus, I only earned about $1.40 an hour - on the days they would give me any work, which was rare.
I quit after a year, bc that is absolute nonsense. I was always told my work wasn’t good enough, anyway.
I’m 21 now, and I still can’t find a job. My family is seriously broke, can barely afford food. I want to help so bad, but apparently I’m not good enough for any of the local jobs. And though I’ve tried, I haven’t earned any money from crochet.
So yeah, I feel like a worthless excuse for an adult right about now.
