  • i used to do slst in place for any and all single crochets (cuz in my head there was no such sing as a single crochet)
  • i used to do dc inc for all incs
  • i used to decrease until i couldnt anymore instead of FO and sewing the hole shut
  • i’m FULLY asian on both sides and cant use chopsticks and have to go throu the shameful process of asking for a fork in every restaurant i go to
  • i-i’m still scared of monsters under my bed even though my bed doesnt HAVE an “under” to it; it’s like a high mattress bed

If I’m making amigurumi, sometimes I get to the end of a round and am a st short or have an extra one. If I’m feeling lazy, I won’t frog the round and instead I’ll just ad another inc or dec to make the st count correct

Yayyy I wasn’t the only one, when I first learned I only knew the slip knot, ch, and I thought single crochet was sl st, and on size 3 sport weight yarn to top it off. I couldn’t understand why 11 rows was so skinny, and how anyone could make anything so fast, I was 11 when I first learned how to crochet, I didn’t successfully learn any new stitches until I was 18 or 19 I think. I still made some cool stuff tho, only a few cause it took so long but still.

  • I used to do all increases for every row and then I wondered why it was wiggly :upside_down_face:
  • I also thought I had to decrease until I couldn’t anymore
  • I used to make everything inside out :sob:
  • I used to use a 5.00mm hook for amigurumi with weight 4 yarn beachside it’s what the label told me :skull:

On my first project, I did a 3 stitch decrease on the head bc my grandma, who is my teacher, told me as long as the stitch count is right, it doesn’t matter.
But idk what yall are taking abt with a slip stitch as a single crochet lol
(NO HATE, YOU WERE A BEGINNER)

I used to do some stitches on the back loops or front loops only, not knowing that is a thing.
I never did gauge swatches.
I used to follow hat patterns with medium yarn instead of dk. AND a bigger hook. Can you say sizing issues …
I used to work into an extra stitch on the end of rows (and didn’t count)

I did all of those too lol

i never did, and still don’t :skull:, count the number of stitches in a row. i place all my trust in my rickety ability to count. also am i tho only one who can count with anything except crocheting? :light_blue_heart:

I hate making a gauge swatch, and will have moments I forget how to do the stitch I am doing and have to stop and think.

One time I fully fell down a flight of wooden stairs and almost broke my butt. AT A FRIENDS HOUSE.

She and her sis still laugh about it

Omg I’ve been crocheting for, I think 2 years at this point! And I still constantly off a stitch or 2 bc I suck at counting. Also, how do u always write like this? I would find it exhausting? Idk, love it anyways.

I have never in my life made a gauge swatch and I probably never will because I’m too lazy lol

90% of the time if my st count is wrong I’ll just do an inc or Dec until it’s right :sob:

I used to use a 4 mm hook for WORSTED WEIGHT? Woobles steered me wrong there lol

I never make gauge swatches :skull: I just go for it

I used to use hooks that were way too small when I used plush yarn. Like 5 mm for bernat blanket and 3.5 mm for big twist posh

・I also dec till i couldnt in the last round lol
・i thought inc was making 1 st in the last one (instead of 2 in the next space) XD

・i dont function properly till like after 4pm -_-;
・i have several personalities @_@

  • when my mom was teaching me to crochet, she was also helping three other people learn, and when i couldn’t figure out how to chain i looked up a youtube tutorial instead of just straight up asking her :’D
  • i find the ch 2 method to be trickier than a magic ring (i always lose count, don’t know why smh)
  • gauge swatches? who’s she?? (this is my version of living life on the edge lol)
  • i own stitch markers but i use yarn scraps instead bc i like them better (mainly cuz i’m lazy and i can crochet over them instead of moving them at the end of every single round)
  • i’ve started at least five different sweaters, bought specific yarn for another sweater, and have finished exactly one >:3
  • up until very embarrassingly recently, i was doing invisible decreases like a sc2tog :moai:
  • mcdonald’s iced coffees over starbucks any day
  • i will still sprint into bed after turning the lights off
  • i put off reading books i know i’ll like for literally years (i’ve been saying “keep the best for last” since i was really little)
  • shower curtains scare me (i blame it on suite 776, iykyk)
