We've got samples! 🧶 Ribblr yarn

Ribblrs - we’ve got samples!

It wasn’t too long ago when you voted YES for Ribblr yarn and in a classic Ribblr fashion - we’re moving and moving fast :dashing_away:

Quick update on yarn and samples!

Since we last spoke, we started receiving yarn samples - this is such an exciting step for us, and of course you are already a huge part of this process.

There is so much room for innovation with yarn and so much I would LOVE to do!
But we need to keep the first Ribblr yarn collection focused on what matters most: beautiful, high quality yarn that you will actually want to use.

So the initial rollout is likely to be based on demand - what you have asked for, and what we are seeing in Ribblr across projects - a mix of acrylic, polyester, and wool blends.

We have secured warehousing in the US, which will be our entry point. Shipping will be open worldwide, though maybe a little pricy to begin with.
As demand grows, our plan is to open another warehouse facility in Europe (EU, UK, and the Middle East) and after that, we would open one in Asia to serve Southeast Asia and Oceania.

It may sound far down the line, but we’ve already got the connections and planning in how to make it work. It really comes down to how much demand we’ll have in those places, so we can bring the shipping cost down and shorten the delivery time.

Anyway, more on that later!

Ribbot on our label?

A few weeks ago, I asked if you wanted Ribbot on the yarn label, and a whopping 98% of you said YES. 📣 Ribblr yarn is happening! (should Ribbot be on the label?)

And honestly? I agree

So it is a done deal! Ribbot will be there, cheering you on with every project you work on.

Our designers are already working on the Ribblr yarn label, and I genuinely think it is going to be the best yarn label you have ever seen. OK, I may be biased :face_with_peeking_eye: but I honestly cannot wait to share it with you.

We need you! :purple_heart:

As promised, I will keep you posted and involved throughout the R&D process not just prior to launching the yarn but after too, as we continue to grow.
This includes yarn composition, colors, weight, and more.

I also cannot emphasize this enough: how successful Ribblr yarn becomes really comes down to you :folded_hands:

If you support us and purchase Ribblr yarn, that money will go into creating even more yarn, more colors, more fibers, and more options for the community.

It’s honestly so important to me that just like everything we did over the last ~6 years, this will also be by the community, for the community.

For now, reply below to let me know - what’s your favorite hook/needle size? :yarn:

Post it below and let’s chat :)

Thank you as always!

Yours,
Lir

I hope you enjoyed our recent Gem Boost, Reactions + Ribbot emoji launch plus we’ve got a new app updates with things like widgets coming soon!

My go to is a 4.5mm/7 hook. For smaller amigurami probably my 3.0mm. I don’t like to go below a 2.75/2.5mm, my hands hurt too much any smaller.

And the yarn looks beautiful. I’ve recently been looking for 100% mercerized cotton in a true #4 worsted weight or even a #5 for a few projects. All i have found is a very light weight, and skinny #4 worsted (works up lighter than a dk, and almost as light as a lingering weight. However it holds the shape well, but to get near the gauge requirements, I need to use double or triple strands. So id like to see this type of yarn added to the list produced by Ribblr.

24/7 #4 weight, 100% mercerized cotton. 2 strands, 5mm hook to obtain a 14hdcx11 row, 4in square.

My 5mm hook gets the most use.

My hooks range from 3.75 to a 6mm hook with a 5mm being used the most. I like acrylic #4 and chenille #4 or #5.

I hope this yarn turns out to be a world wide success. You go Ribblr.
