As the title says i wanna know the best way to take my pattern photos so that they look professional. Im pretty much done with writing the pattern so i just need to take a picture. I also wanna know if it changes much for a granny square.
Ok. I will try to do that.
Moved this to photography space :)
Thx! I was debating whether to leave it in general or move it there
I am not the best expert but I’d suggest taking a photo outside in natural lighting with a fairly plain background, (like grass, a bush, or whatever you think looks nice) and I think it looks better, if it’s possible, to blur out the background so that the product stands out more, hope this helps :3
Thank you! That should work well.
Ik lots of ppl say this and it’s kinda cliche but…
NATURAL LIGHTING
I make sure to take my photos on a sunny day, and try to take them on one where its not windy.
Outside lighting! I like to use greenery or a fence as a backdrop.
Ok! I will try. Hopefully that doesnt mean that im gonna have to wait a week.
Not many fences and its snowy here… im gonna have to improvise…
This post is an incredible help
Depending on the creation, the snow background might look better than grass!
Sadly i dont think it will cuz what i made has a white border
I didnt even see that
Lol that’s too relatable.
I had a photoshoot today and it was wayyyy too windy but I just had to carry on.
I’m ngl I hated the way my pictures for patterns looked but then I took a wonderful tester’s advice on photos for patterns and what I can give you is to take them outside n good lighting (mid to late afternoon I find is best) in front of a mindful and demure
pretty bush![]()
You could take advantage of the snow and make something that would look good in the snow.
But im trying to finish my wips! Dont ruin my new years resolutions
As others have said, good lighting, outdoors is great, but the other best place to do it that I have found, is actually in a car (for winter anyways) bring something out there that would make a good backdrop, I often use a piece of cloth. Make sure your camera lense is clean, and put your camera on portrait mode.
