Heeeyyyy bubs!! Its been a bit since my last question blog lol about 9 months since the last one
Happy Sunday!! Todays topic is about what we watch while crocheting!!
When crocheting I immediately feel the need to multitask and turning on the Tv to watch while crocheting fulfills that need. Lately my family has been watching wicked nonstop so I’ve just been watching those movies while crocheting!! When my family isn’t watching with me I usually watch The Amazing Digital Circus, Ninjago, Stranger Things, and Gilmore Girls. Although I will say that when doing market prep I watch other people’s markets or just any video involving crochet!! While watching can be nice when crocheting it can also sometimes be bad especially if you start doomscrolling. Doomscrolling is so addictive and distracting, I can’t tell you how many times a crochet project took double the amount of time it should’ve had because I got distracted scrolling. As long as we’re not spending 6 hours doomscrolling, crocheting and watching is one of favorite combos!!
// Now for the questions!! //
What do you watch when crocheting??
Be honest, how often do you get distracted by tv/scrolling when crocheting?
Have any shows or movies you recommend?
And finally did you miss my Question Blogs?
(Lil update: Question Blogs will have a new post every Sunday unless something comes up)
I used to watch Youtube videos of crochet channels (OmazingPaige). Now I mostly watch cooking/baking shows while crocheting since that’s something that doesn’t normally distract me while crocheting. But sometimes my family wants to watch a movie, so I’ll crochet with that. And I’m going to watch season 2 of the Percy Jackson series soon!
But, yea, I get distracted a lot when crocheting, especially movies or anything that you have to watch in order to get the whole story pretty much.
Well if you’re into cooking shows: Triple G and Tournament of Champions. And then the Percy Jackson series is really good!
These Question Blogs seem fun! I’ve only started using ribblr kind of recently so I haven’t seen others. But you should definitely keep doing them!
I love to watch cartoons & or YouTube when I crochet :3 the cartoons really just depend whether I feel like watching it or not, but on YouTube, I normally watch LPS customizing videos, Crochet Market Vlogs or just whatever catches my attention lmao. But I sometimes don’t watch anything and just listen to Country Rock Music or whatever. ^^
Honestly, I just start watching a video that’s extremely long but still interesting (currently just watching Gothamchess since he posts every day on YouTube). Doomscrolling…….I used to get distracted by it every 5 minutes, but I’m getting better at sticking to one video/movie/show!
When I’m crocheting I ussually watch stranger things, the amazing digital circus, gilmore girls, good witch, or even the news I also have a problem with doom scrolling when looking for patterns or ideas for market prep idk why its just so addictive its crazy, my brother even gets mad at me for taking the tv for it and half of the time I’m looking for a pattern I don’t want to crochet so I can’t find a pattern I feel like crocheting idk if that makes sense but… And I do get very distracted but I also have a conitive processing delay, dyslexia and ADHD. I wouldn’t know if I missed the blogs because i haven’t ever seen one but I will say I like this one!!!
Idk if anyone else feels this way but while you are counting and watching a movie or whatnot isn’t it distracting, or is that just me???
i love watching crochet vlogs and me and my sister have been binging the harry potter movies over and over again for the past 2 weeks but when im by myself i enjoy like the cringy old disney shows i.e liv and maddie (thats the best one) and cooking shows (cant do baking makes me to hungry) often times i dont get distracted when im on my tv but on my ipad im distracted all the time and im (not new but newer) so i never saw your question blogs but this seems so fun im going to follow you so i dont miss out!
youtube, always ^^ i don’t have a specific genre, i just pick whatever lol. for example, yesterday i watched markiplier, laurenzside, alex meyers, grian, and jasmine le
and i generally get distracted when i finish a long form video and am looking for the next one haha
I love watching Hazbin Hotel and The Amazing Digital Circus, as well as Not Even Emily occasionally.
I sometimes get distracted watching these things and have to undo stitches T-T, but I for the most part just like background noise since I watched most of the shows and enjoy re-watching them.
I honestly never got to see the blogs since I joined around December and wasn’t entirely active in the community, but it sounds really fun and I would love to do them!
I generally watch/listen to video essays, tiktok compliations by Alexthepookie, crochet bloggers, or whatever science topics get my attention on youtube. If not that, I watch television! Lately I’ve been re-watching both Stranger Things and Arcane, as well as working my way through Supernatural! Only on S7 out of 15. I’m planning on watching Lucifer next.
I absolutely get distracted by all three if I get too into it, though
This is my first question blog! I love this idea and the intent behind it!
I normally listern to audio dramas. That helps me not get too distracted. That or i LOVE Father Brown. The new one. With Mark Williams, the one where Sorcha Cusack had to up and leave
A lot.
Father Brown. With the audio dramas, i listen to Adventures in Odyssey (AIO)
I always put something in miniplayer when using a ribblr pattern! Or if it’s another pattern I’ll watch something full screen or on tv. I watch anything that looks interesting on YouTube, a ton of the red and green flag guy who runs across the field (lol his channel is great), a lot of video essays, a lot of Rachel A Ramras hunger games videos. I also crochet while watching Star Wars (the actual ones, not the Disney trash sequels), the Percy Jackson show(I’ve been into Percy Jackson for a long time and the show is pretty good), and Phineas and Ferb(of course)!
I don’t really get distracted when crocheting, but I always pick something I know I can have in the background. For stuff like Percy Jackson, I pick episodes I’ve already seen.
I haven’t watched it in a while but one of my favorite chefs on it for sure was Mei Lin! Also Molly Yeh’s cooking show is pretty fun and I enjoy it, although I prefer the competition ones (lol). Some more shows… love kids baking championship. And there was a Harry Potter baking contest show on hbo max that was really good!
My go to is true crime documentaries. Particularly That Chapter, Crime Zone (the one with Nigel and Luke), the Missing Enigma etc. Last night though I started watching Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. That kind of falls under true crime… Sometimes I’ll watch movies also.
Occasionally get distracted by scrolling but not too often.
Okay usually what I watch is Kubz Scouts, CoryxKenshin, and/or EmmortalMarcus. So basically horror game playthroughs or Analog horror. Yeah, I’m a big horror game/vid nerd. I will say, yeah sometimes I get distracted, but that’s by music. For some shows, if you like mysteries, watch Danganropa! It’s a good show if you like suspense and a lot of drama. Also Twisted Wonderland. It’s a mix of Disney Villains & Harry Potter (kinda). The Harry Potter part is really just the houses and magic, but the Villains are what’s really obiv. It is on Disney+, so you can really only watch it there. But any indie show is also amazing! TADC is a big one, but there are many indie show pilots that are amazing too! Analog horror is actually a type of indie show so it’s interesting to watch and try to solve/understand. (Yes this includes the popular Walten Files) Also (last recommendation, I swear), Fanganropas, these are all fan-animations/games themed off of Danganropa. These are fun to watch and can be a really puzzle-solving thing if you watch it. And finally this is my first Question Blog I’ve seen, and am super excited to see the others!
Now I need to stop before I start yapping about all these shows..
