Whats your favorite yarn and why?

I thought this could be a fun topic. You can share your favorite yarn or yarns
I’ll start: my favorite yarn for amigurami is bernat blanket because it doesnt shed as much as chinille (i still use chinille). I find it not as “slippery” in my hands as other p,ush yarns as well. For clothing and accessories i use red heart super saver because i find it easier to work with when making more “complex” stitches and its not too bulky when wearing item. Plus i find it very beginner friendly for crochet and knitting. Its what i used when learning both hobbies.

I don’t want to discourage red heart but wal-marts yarn is pretty much just as good as red heart. I buy their yarn when i need yarn for a very specific thing that i don’t think ill use ever again

Don’t trust the website, it looks sketchy and scammy. Anything on Amazon is from resellers. Big Twist is and always has been a Joann exclusive brand.

I have heard of some possible dupes for posh… knotty ball from Kayla’s krafts, Patti’s plush from Patti and Bango’s place, Soho Skwishy from Herrschners, or marshmallow from Mojadream (which is on amazon). I haven’t tried any of these yet, but I plan to order some when I run out of Posh.

Bernat Blanket because it is soft, easy to work with, and doesn’t shed. I tend to use Caron Simply Soft for my size 4 yarn because it is sooo soft despite it splitting from time to time. I’ve recently been making a cardigan for my sister in law using Premier Puzzle yarn and I love it.

I just did a quick hoogle and saw their website. You cant buy directly off their site but i thought maybe they reached out to sell on amazon since they cant at joanns :woman_shrugging:.

Thank you so much for saying that! Im sure many of us are looking for dupes.

I havent tried a new-ish skein of simply caron. I got some back in like 2021 but even then it very well couldve been older than that (it was gifted to me). Has it got any better at not splitting since then? Im not sure how long youve been crocheting so you might not know

I totally feel that walmart thing. Our walmart got built 15 years ago. But before hand we had to drive 45 minutes to the nearest one. Like we made a whole day dedicated to walmart. Even then ours is tiny compared to others. Lol
Also thats a good deal for red heart. Walmart is the only place near me that sells yarn
