I mainly have favorite players throughout the season so I am kinda rooting for players moreso than countries

Oh that Brazil Japan match was so good and hard fought. I was just cheering because I really like both.
I really like Portugal and Croatia (Modric is one of my all time favorite players) and it was jus a match to just cheer for the players and countries. A hard fought match.

Yess. And the Cabo Verde vs. Argentina match. I was hoping Cabo Verde would win, but Argentina had to fight very hard. Either way, I still think that Cabo Verde is happy win or lose as it was their first World Cup and they played some of the strongest teams.

Cabo Verde did incredible! Not even for a first time in the world cup. Other countries have been in the world cup and to make it to round 16 playing against Argentina who is defending their title…. That is no small stuff for any country and any country would be proud. Cabo Verde is definitely one to look out for in the next 4 years for the men, and their women’s team will not be underestimated if they qualify. Their men made sure of that.
Mexico v England was a good match. This Round 16 has been sound interesting. Bellingham was really on top of his game and a teammate being open wide open to score but passing it to him was just simply a gentleman move if I ever did see one. No ball hogs or glory houds. It was lovely. There were just some really good plays made and great saves from both Mexico and England. Playing at high altitude and in the smale from fireworks and smog can’t have been easy.
I predicted Canada vs Morocco accurately, but the rest of them have truly been who knows to me. They are so well matched and have their +/- for each team. I didn’t think it would come down to penalties in so many matches not at this point at least. Later.
I am really curious so see how Bologun is going to play. I think Belgium is going to really go after him since he is on probation it has been allowed to play. It would be smart for them to in order to draw could and get him off the field. It will definitely be an interesting game now that he is allowed to play. Very strange situation.

I am sad that the U.S. lost, but I’m super happy that Norway made it to quarterfinals. This has been a very interesting cup.

Me too and me too. Erling Haaland has play wonderfully as a stand out for Norway. 
And…..He is so tall. I am super short anyway so really any of those guys are giants. Hahahaha. I can’t imaging the tremendous pressure each of them feels playing for their country and fans around the world. No matter who makes it to the final, it will definitely have been a well fought and earned spot for sure. It really is such a beautiful game. I really enjoy it so much.

@ChloeTea did you watch the Switzerland v Columbia match. I missed it live. I’ve caught a cold or something. Took something and fell asleep. I was able to watch it thankfully without spoilers. It was a good one. My family said the keepers were cyborgs. Totally must’ve been half human.

I was able to watch the end of the game. The penalty kicks were crazy.
I told my dad that the match was partially lose-lose, as whoever lost went home and whoever won was going to have to play Argentina. Though, I think Switzerland may have a chance as Argentina has been winning basically by luck these past two games.

These teams have been so evenly matched that I think you are right. They just might have a chance. I am definitely team France at this point. But it is anybody’s game at this point for who will win.

Yesss. I am super sad that Norway went home. I was rooting for them and they played so well this cup. I am interested in how the Argentina v. Switzerland match goes.
I think the semifinals will we very interesting as France will be playing Spain and England will be playing whoever wins the last match.

It was a super interesting match. I was rooting for them both because I was super torn. Haaland is such a good player and England has some great players too.
These new matches I will be so interested to see how they turn out. Of course I am rooting for MBappe, but other than that, I am rooting for the teams and players to stay safe and be great.
