I love blanket and chenille but I can’t get chenille near me so I end up using blanket more, favorite is hobby lobby but (again) since I can’t get stuff from there where I live I do like premier, #4 only because it’s what I’m most used to but if I had the option every plushy would be made of weight 7 like imagine a huge Frodo the frog!! Again acrylic only because it’s what’s most available but I also like working with velvet, personally creating patterns trial and error is easier in acrylic for me. Hope you like the paragraph
Personally, I find Feels like Bliss incredibly itchy. Not my thing.
I don’t have much of a preference between blanket and chenille yarn, I thrift 90% of my yarn, so I’m lucky if I find either. If I go buy yarn myself, I don’t pay attention to which one I get, I just find the cheapest skein with the most yarn.
I chose 5.5mm only because the hook size I use with blanket yarn entirely depends on the project. 5.5 was just the average of the sizes I use.
I thrift most of my yarn, so I’d say Goodwill, yard/garage sales, and anywhere else that I can get a ton of yarn cheap. Now, if I’m actually buying yarn myself, then Michaels. I’m personally not a fan of Hobby Lobby for personal reasons.
I would say my favorite yarn weight is 3, but I do enjoy working with 2-7+. 3-4 is what I usually work with, but I prefer 3.
Call me weird for this, but I love mohair yarn. I enjoy anything that is like mohair as well. For example, I am currently working on a project with a Caron Cloud cake. I also enjoy Suri, Alpaca, Angora, brushed acrylics, etc.
I know that at lot of people like Micheals to shop for yarn and so do I, I love loops and threads sweet snuggles yarn its so soft, but Hobby Lobby has really cheap yarn and they always have sales, you can get a good skein of yarn for like 4 bucks.
