Yesss I agree! Iāve seen so many AI generated crochet images in Google, printrest, and Etsy ![]()

Thanks for sharing! super insightful ![]()
When it comes to reviews on Etsy itās important to remember that:
- many positive reviews are provided PRIOR to the person actually making the pattern.
- Etsy (from what I hear), sends buyers frequent (daily) reminders to leave a review for the item theyāve bought. In order to stop being harrassed by Etsy, buyers leave a review (often positive) with a note saying they havenāt made it yet etc.
- many reviews are also fake, so donāt always believe what you see. Check out the photos shared in a review very carefully to see that they also arenāt also AI generated.
I hate Ai patterns sm! They should be illegal! I scroll on Etsy too and over HALF of them are Ai
But I love that Ribblr doesnāt allow Ai patterns!
Tysm for this post ai is soooooooooo terrible and itās slop . literally.there is no nice way to say it
Oh no thatās terrible
Fr to both ur statements
Please stay the same even if this growsā![]()
I always search Ribblr for patterns first, as I prefer buying here over anywhere else. But if you look for something specific to make I donāt always find it, especially if Iām looking for more advanced patterns. But Iām sure that will change as Ribblr grows, and so do the designers hereā![]()
Itās really hard by now to find honest patterns, on Etsy but also in the Internet in generel. I wish thereād be at least like a positive review by real people - or even better an Anti-AI - filter, but Etsy and other companies apparently just donāt care about scamming peopleā![]()
The sad thing is, Iām pretty sure etsy allows Ai patterns T^T
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE
⦠ai is such a big problem by best friend told me how people were willing to use ai to write things and force others so do so and now in ARTS AND CRAFTS?
THE COMPUTER IS MADE OF BINARY⦠and now it is taking creativity too
(srry for kind of venting)
It it would at least work. Like if you could actually make the pattern created by the AI into what it claims to be. But it doesnāt ![]()
this is so devastating to see :(
AI has definitely gone too far in the crafting world, and iām so glad ribblr is taking some action against it!
The worst part is that Etsy officially allows AI generated products. Itās hypocritical that their moto is ākeep commerce humanā and advertise that products on their platform are āhandmadeā. Typing a few words and clicking a button is not the same as hand making an item. All the work is done by a machine, essentially the opposite of ākeeping things humanā (not to mention how most AI programs are trained unethically).

They may have to disclose its made using AI, but they donāt. I used Etsy when I first started looking for new patterns, or something specific. That was before I found Ribblr. I also find lots of great ideas on Yarnspirations.com, and Herrschners.com for free. I am so glad that I found Ribblr and am able to be confident that the piece was generated using brain power, not computer power.
Thank you Ribblr and Ribblr community for keeping to people power.
The pattern never turn out near the photo like 1,5 years ago I actually asked ChatGPT to make me a advanced pattern of a cat and I got a photo of the cat and it looked ai and i just thought that it would turn out that way to letās just say it didnāt look good at all I maby would enjoy ai patterns if they would turn out to look like the picture but they never do and it also become a problem to because people will stop buying people made patterns
But it would still be fraud.
The person didnāt really design anything, they just entered a few prompts into AI, and hey presto!
It also takes away the human element. It removes the learning, the creative process. I get more joy out of learning how to do it myself.
The people using AI are just doing it because they are lazy and want to make money quicklyā¦and they think we wonāt notice.
I have been thinking about this a lot lately. It makes me so mad, I can hardly contain it. Not sad-mad, MAD MAD. AI, stop stealing. Ugh
I totally agree with you ![]()
Ai is too present in the crochet community ![]()

Soo many AI patterns everywhere ![]()
Thank you Ribblr ![]()

For me, I like to shop there because of the range of patterns. There are SO many that arenāt on here. I also like to download pdfs to keep them in a safe place in case I lose access and so I can work offline.
