Hi! There’s a holiday market near me looking for local vendor applications, and it looks like a super accessible way to get started selling some of my makes offline. I’m curious if I can just set up QR codes with my Venmo and PayPal accounts for payment or if I shouldn’t even think about attempting a maker’s market without a card reader. What do you think? I’m also looking for advice in general about vending at maker’s markets. If you have experience as a vendor, let me know what you wish you knew before your first market!

From my experience, offering cash and Venmo is plenty, so if you have PayPal you should be fine. Other market tips: make sure you’re still having fun while prepping, you shouldn’t be focused solely on the money. Oh, and definitely load the car the night before. There’s nothing more fun than getting to the market at 7 after a 2 hour car ride, exhausted from having to move everything once and realizing you have to do it again (trust me on this one, you don’t want to try it).

the square card reader thing is free! i would suggest you check that out, as that may be something you’re interested in.

i think it’s always great to crochet a bit at your market since they’ll know its all handmade by you, but i’ve actually never been to one! gl with yours if you decide to go :)
