Thatās so prettyyyyā
Challenge of the Week: Oct. 20 - Oct. 26
Destashing from: Yarn, fabric and pattern stashes
Goal: Destash from all my things
Project: I like making amigurumi, garments, etc but I am actually intimidated by bags solely because I donāt know how to do linings! Which is something I would like to add but the thought of sewing it together and perhaps zippers seems intimidating lol, however I do want to make a bag and use some fabric (zipper maybe included) this is the pattern Iāll try to get some work done on it
Iām still working on the pattern Iām testing and on my last skein, and still a lot to do! I did order more but I donāt think itās enough
Iāll have to see but Iām still destashing slowly but sure. On another note I also ordered some yarn for my Halloween costume so hopefully I can finish it!
I like to experiment with different stitches although I can never figure out what project would work with them! I mostly use sc stitches for just about everything though lol
Thank you! Yes Iām delighted sheās having the opportunity to grow, but itās definitely eating into my crafting time, haha. Luckily Iāll have a little more time this week, though!
Iām so happy you like Spencer! They did such a great job designing this - I love the little details like the stitched mouth.
Glad you had fun with the starburst charm! Iāll respond on that more below, but they came out awesome!
Ikwym! Iām over here eyeing everyoneās yarns like how am I running a destash challenge planning my restock? :grimace:
I want to eventually use more gradient style yarns for amigurumi. Itās something I havenāt really experimented with, but I once saw a gorgeous elephant with one and I also remember some neat dinos made by combining a plush yarn and a colorful acrylic - so cool!
Happy to have company for the destash dance, hehe! That skeletonās got some moves!
Yes it definitely requires a little more consideration than my other prompts, but hopefully youāll find something that challenges you (in a fun way)! ^.^
And ofc it counts - thatās mad cool! Oh my gosh - Iām loving all this GLOW in the dark creativity on display!
Moo Deng came out so darling! And I love all the variations on the starburst charm , especially the fuzzy tassels! I can see these as earrings, too, especially if ya use a smaller yarn/thread! Iām glad you had fun with it!
I agree with Mercy, it looks SO COOL. Did your tests reveal anything? Iāve heard that āchargingā the yarn helps. The only time Iāve used it was on this bat eyeball I tested a little while ago, and I found it was a bit of a challenge to photograph, as well, but your photos show a really amazing level of GLOW!
(with uv)

(lights out only)
You did a fantastic job with your color parameters on the cake! I love the decorative details and Iām impressed how much you accomplished with your assigned color palette - what a fun and colorful design!
You worked those up those mittens so quickly, too, my goodness, haha! They are absolutely PAWESOME, though, and I definitely think people would be interested in a pattern! I love the method of sizing You might be able to accomplish something similar with a m2m type of sizing?
Iām not too knowledgeable, but Iām cheering you on if you decide to try writing one up!
My pleasure! You must stitch so fast, Iād be lucky to get that far in a week, haha! Youāre right, it really adds a lot of dimension in a subtle way! Iām excited to see both of these wips of yours completed, but Iām also loving the progress pics, too!
I agree with Art that your cardigan came out fabulously - congratulations on finishing your project It looks so neat - the cherries are such a delightful detail! !
Iāll send that pattern along to you shortly. And Iām happy the challenge could provide some motivation - so grateful to have your participation, thank you for joining us!
Ooh, that is an awesome bag - Iām stoked to see what you do with yours! I understand how those elements might be intimidating, but itās definitely of those things I think is easier than it looks, especially if you already have any experience with sewing, as both lining and zippers can be added with the most basic of stitches (ofc they can be added with more challenging techniques, too, but there are options)!
Ahhh! I hope you luck out and it is enough to finish your cardigan! Yay for more yarn to finish the costume! Thatās gonna be so cool
I know what you mean! SC is just a classic and works well with so many projects. I love experimenting with stitches, too - do you have any you especially like from your experimentations? ^.^
This weeks prompt seems fun! (but I really dot wanna finish my wips⦠)
sorry for not being active here so much! And sorry that I still havent decided a prize yet!! Iām VERY indecisive, and i dont want you to buy something I might not make!
Hahaha! Well youre still welcome to share whatever youāre working on here if you want to
No pressure on choosing or participating! This is all just for fun. I donāt think this helps, but you actually have two items to choose now, haha. Again, no rush or pressure - just send them along whenever you decide; I appreciate you trying to be so mindful with your decisions.
2? I didnāt know that! I guess it makes things easier to choose then! :)
Are there any patterns you reccomend that youāve enjoyed making?
Thank you so much.
This was a great thread to join in and see what everyone made
Thank you so much! Yes I agree those starburst charms would definitely look nice as earrings! I have sewed in the past but it was awhile back when I was younger and my mother taught me how to mend holes on things, thankfully sewing in crochet has definitely helped expand on my knowledge of that a alot more!
My favorite stitches would probably have to be either the loop stitch, crocodile stitch, or the moss stitch! They all are just so fun and Iām sure Iāve forgotten some that I really enjoyed as well lol
Oooo Im excited for this one! (excited in a non excited way because Iāll have to make something I donāt want to make lol) I havenāt been doing the prompts at all really (I only did one ) but I want to be more active since they seem really fun.
sorry for not picking a prize lol, i just didnāt want you to spend anymore money on me lol
Yes, 15mins in either direct sunlight or uv seems to āchargeā the glow in the dark yarn nicely but the glow drops away pretty quickly. I need to review ive got every to put a video together, im still really new to doing youtube.
I finished this sweater a couple days ago, and i wasnt sure if i was gonna finish because i have never finished a wearable before
Im so proud of it
Bet it looks great on, well done
Nice, you should put it over a white top to show off its spidery goodness
Thatās so cute!! I agree, white would really show it off!
Ill try to find one to see how it looks, i also chose black because i thought it looked better with my earrings and the way im gona paint my nails.
Its optional - no pressure! I donāt want to make anyone uncomfortable
