Photography advice 🤍⭐️

Hello lovely crafty ribbot army!

I have begun taking photos on my mom’s old Nikon D5000.

photos 🌀

As I have no clue what im doing or how I even achieved that, I am looking for any other photographers on here who have some advice :white_heart:
I take nature, animal, and sports photography (not pictured). The sports photos I take on my dad’s Sony A7 IV. I think he also said he had an old canon camera lying around I can use- Im unsure.
Anywhos any help is much appreciated :star:

Thanks!

My grandma is an underwater photographer. And recently she took me to the Philippines to go diving. (sadly I can only go 60 feet underwater) and she let me borrow her little red TG6 camera. The photos I took are kinda bad

And my grandmas pics are gorgeous compared to mine

(she let me borrow her camera on one dive and I could see better through the camera than my mask:neutral_face:)

Any advice I could give is: focus on your target and have the background blurred. I don’t know how to change settings on a camera

cool!! those are really good! im not super experienced, but rule of thirds, birds eye/worms eye view helps me so much!!

wow those look so good!!
i’m not really good an expert or anything at photography but i do have a few tips :>

first one is the rule of thirds. with a 3x3 grid on your photo, the main subject/focus point should take up around two-thirds of the grid

(not my photos)

another one is the viewpoint/perspective of the photo. depending on what angle you take your photo at, it really changes the overall look of the photo

(i took the first photo ^^)

and the last two is to have good lighting and a nice contrast between the colours to really bring out the best in your photo!

(i took both photos :> )

i hope this helps a bit! <3

If you wear glasses don’t take them off to take photos lol my older sister did that and she focused the camera lens in a way that matched her prescription so it was blurry for everyone but her
You’re doing amazing!! I love how your photos have turned out!

Ooh I love the plant photos you took!! :herb:

I would say that to me, two of the most important things are light and composition. Like what some of the others are saying, there are many ways you can frame a photo and for light, black & white photography can be a good way to practice and see how shadows and highlights fall :)
Learning about color theory can also be a really useful thing for photography, because color combinations like complementary colors (e.g. red & green, blue & orange) can make your photos feel a lot more harmonious.

But really, the most helpful thing for me was just to practice a lot

omg those r rlly good photos! im taking a photography class and I love it sm. I haven’t rlly learned that much yet, but the main thing Ive learned is Elements and Principles of Photography. it basically tells u how/where to frame the photo and kinda how to understand photos ig. I def recommend reading and learning about all of them.

some of my pics if anyone wants to see

pics!

You can see that a different focus completely changes the feel of the picture

:up_arrow: with this one if you look close I think the camera lens was being wonky but I kinda like it

I’ve taken like 200 but these are the ones that i’m actually proud of lol

having the background blurred is good for a lot of photos. sometimes when someone is looking somewhere or pointed a certain direction it’s good to have more room on that side of the photo (I hope I explained that ok).
you can also probably find photography tips on youtube or somewhere too, from like professionals.
your photos look great to me though!!!

A few of my photos that I like and also speedy chicken
