Sell your MAKES | June 2022 FEATURE DROP is here! šŸ”„

Sure, weā€™ve answered it above- just turn Ribbuild mode off and add your own journal notes. Then head over to your makes.

Thatā€™s not currently supported on the first release of makes.
We recommend either setting a higher international shipping price that works for you or to wait for us to roll out more tools & features for makes in the next few months.

I have listed 2 of my designs, but when I try another one I get this.

How would taxes work for the makes?

That depends on your terms when selling, but generally import tax only applies above a certain amount and is payable by the buyer.

These are amazing!

Is there a way to have search criteria for those makes that are for sale, so we donā€™t have to scroll through oodles of listings to find specific types of items, such as a tiger amigurumi or knitted fingerless mitts?

ETA Or is this already available and I missed it?

Hi @TeaLover
currently you can find all makes using the link on your homepage or specific craft makes using the craft pages.
You can also find makes from within pattern listings or from a userā€™s makes.

In the future weā€™re likely to add filters too to all those available options!

Will you include seller protection for people who buy patterns and expect a finished product so we donā€™t lose money because someone didnā€™t read the description?

@ashensalcove completely understand your concerns. See belowā€‹

Also itā€™s important to note that as per our default terms & conditions it says digital items are not refundable or returnable.

This is one of the protection you get when selling on Ribblr, alongside of course the protection against piracy of your designs

Thank you! Yay!!! If a customer gets angry at us is there a way for us to direct them to a higher up (happens all the time on etsy and then the seller is just stuck with the rude customer)

What im trying to say is, atleast itā€™ll be safe on Ribblr.
Ribblr is like a safe spot for all creators! This insures the safety and calmness we get here.

We know how frustrating that can be!

If it does happen, we suggest directing them to our terms & conditions and also to the clear indication.
On other platforms itā€™s only available in the description if added by the designer so itā€™s easier to miss it.
On Ribblr, this is clearly marked across the entire flow of purchase, from the listing page, through the buy button and even upon checkout.

@amit2677 ā€“ It isnā€™t illegal for others to sell things theyā€™ve made from a pattern you wrote. You own the copyright to the pattern but not to the finished product. I understand what youā€™re saying and I would be frustrated as a designer myself if someone was competing with me as I also sell my own finished products. However, asking for the option to turn it off doesnā€™t solve the problem because thereā€™s not really a problem to begin with. At least this way youā€™ll get paid a royalty when someone does it. Besides, as a crafter, itā€™s a turnoff for me from any pattern when the designer tries to tell me what I can and canā€™t do with the finished product. I donā€™t put notes on my own patterns that say ā€œdonā€™t sell the finished productā€ because thatā€™s got no legal ground.

Yay! I love all of these updates! I canā€™t wait to check them all out! Thanks for working so hard to be a place for designers and makers :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I donā€™t agree. Sorry. Itā€™s my opinion and I think designers should get the option to decide if people sell using their patterns. As you were saying that you donā€™t like designers telling you what to do then thatā€™s your problem. Itā€™s clearly a lost cause and I was just trying to show my opinion. Itā€™s not with arguing with people over a small thing.
