Should we create our own Ribblr yarn? 🧶🤔 (vote to help us decide)

I know! Not enough orange shades in general!

I buy almost exclusively chenille. My favorites have been the velvet chenilles but any of the ones I find either have to be bought in an entire set of colors or they’re quite expensive. I also have issues where I don’t know what size they are until I get them. I usually prefer size 5 (I have some size 4 and 6 but not nearly as much).

One other big issue I’ve had is getting red. Often there’s no red options but about 6 blues. :face_with_spiral_eyes: I now have a stash of red because when I find it I hoard like a yarn dragon.

Loops & threads has been my go to for a while due to convenience and I can often get discounts if I watch for them, making it far more reasonably priced than most other options.

I would love a yarn available in the UK. It is quite hard to find yarns which are good quality for a reasonable price and comply with our safety regulations (EN71-3 and OEKO-TEX). Especially if these are chenille or anything that isn’t just an acrylic yarn. I would be happy with any colour not sure if you would look to send to the UK but definitely worth considering.

not sure - it totally depends on the demand! The options are multiple warehouses, or one warehouse but then higher shipping costs. once we get more feedback we can make those decisions :two_hearts:

Good point mentioning oeko Tek standards I have mostly used yarns with it

also one last comment lol, when you take pictures I think it will be very nice if you took photos in natural lighting so we kinda get how the yarn looks irl

that entirely depends on our community!

No worries I just prefer in store but buying online would not be bad

In my area, any brown plush yarn is almost non existent. You can maybe find a chocolate brown in one brand and a tan in another brand but that’s it. And the brands, of course, do not pair well

YES, you guys should definitely do this, it’d be really cool to get my patterns and yarn from the same place!

Usually I use plain old acrylic and occasionally plush yarn, all bought from Micheal’s cuz its the only craft store in the area,
I saw a few people mention getting your yarn into stores to shop in person, which I think is really cool!

Either way really cool idea and I cant wait to see if you guys go through with it! Excited for the future of Ribblr yarns :D

YES I NEED RIBBLR YARN!!!

I usually get mine from michaels but it’s usually $5 for an acrylic skien which isn’t bad but the lowest for bulky/chenille is $10, but most are $15 which is really expensive. I also buy from hobby lobby when in America their prices are okay but the skeins are kind of small..

would totally buy some ribblr yarn!:purple_heart:

I’d love to see Ribblr yarns made from something other than just 100% acrylic, as my sensitive skin doesn’t allow me to work with it.

Cotton, Wool, Alpaca, Polyester, and even blends of them would be amazing!

We need an array of colors from whites, to blacks and everything in between. I focus on amigurumis, and though the brands I use have added a few new colors to them, they are still falling short on colors and at $5 for 80 to 90 yards is killing me and making me want to stop crocheting altogether!

I’m behind Ribblr yarn!! But my BIGGEST question is, will it be available world wide  because there are SO MANY brands that just cant be found in the US (i know shocking, but true) that I want to try out SO bad, but importing them here is expensive on top of the prices for the yarn already.

Work this is such a good idea!! I was thinking how grateful I am for this app. It has a great format, with wonderful people, no ai slop, free patterns and a great community!!! I always recommend it and yarn would just further expand it

we need a wide range of colors, an orange that isn’t practically neon, pill free, minimize splitting, and be 3-5$!

the acrylic yarn should be soft, and i prefer shopping in store!
