I once had THREE skeins of yarn mixed together…it got so bad that I just cut up all the yarn because I was so frustrated :frowning:

I actually haven’t played yarn chicken very much but it is so frustrating! I hope you end up with enough yarn.

Wait actually I remember one recently. I was making a baby blanket for my aunt and I figured I could use just one cake but when I was making the border I had almost ran out of yarn and it was the day of the baby shower! On the way to my aunt’s house, we stopped by Michaels and I bought another cake for a painful 15 dollars and then I crocheted as quick as I could but I couldn’t finished in time, so while she (my aunt) was setting up and talking to other relatives I sat in a corner, with my brother to help block me from her possible view and finished the blanket AT THE BABY SHOWER. My hands were shaking, but I’m glad she liked it! (also idk if that counted as yarn chkn bc I technically bought a new skein.)

One time I was making slippers and before I started I didn’t know if I would have enough yarn and on the end of the second slipper I thought I would win but I lost yarn chicken by 3 stitches! I ended up tying a different type of that color on to finish it.

I went on a long trip and only brought 4 balls of yarn, and I used 3 on the plane (the flight was only a couple hours) :sob:

Then after that, I ended up just making and frogging the same granny square cuz I was sooo bored

(Technically not yarn chicken but it was so sad)

It’s wasn’t yarn chicken, but it was a MESS. My mom and I got 3 yarn balls to make a cardigan for a cousin of mine, but she ended up scrapping the idea. So I decided to make a scarf. I was pulling from the center and about an hour into crocheting, it barfed into an absolute mess. When we finished the messy barf it did it again and again and again. It took about 4 WHOLE HOURS to fix the entire mess.

Oh no! I’ve done that before too! Impatience, anger, and crochet do not go well together

Awe  I’m glad you found something to finish it though!!

Wow :exploding_head: that’s actually insane
I understand that shaky, sweaty, nerve wracking feeling when being a procrastinator and waiting to finish the project because you think you’ll ā€œhave time laterā€! I was sitting in my car 5 minutes before Christmas service at church this year trying to finish a gift for a friend

Oh no! :grimacing: Best of luck!! What are making?

Same!!

Yessssss

Oh no  at least it wasn’t an entire row or anything!

Ahh the classic ā€œI’m bored so I guess I’ll crochet but I don’t have enough yarnā€ syndrome

That sounds horrible
I pulled from the middle, and it tangled so bad once, I just gave up on it and I haven’t used it since

You no you’re not gonna have enough when you use half of it on the plane

I was still kind of new to crochet, bought 2 cakes for this shawl for my mom. Got scared when u was getting to the last row and finished with about 6 in of yarn left.

Another time was a custom blanket and I thought i was going to run out and didn’t have money to get another skein, but at the end I had a tiny bit left over. Not enough to make anything but the relief was still there.

Last time I played yarn chicken it was when I was making my 4 winged dragon. I was about to adjust the second set of wings to be smaller of I ran out of yarn. I ended with about 10 inches of yarn left over.
