It’s been so exciting to see my froggy team members rolling out all the yarn news! Go Ribblr Team!
So that’s got me thinking, are you someone who leaves their yarn in a skein or do you wind it up to create a cake? Something to think about when you get your Ribblr Yarn!
Let me know in the comments below and a few commentors will win some gems!
Personally, I like to leave it in the skein it came in until it falls apart with the yarn barf. Once it does that, I’ll spin the remains into a cake :>
I leave it as a skein until the skein unravels or falls apart from use, then wind it into a cake. Or, if I want to use my yarn holders instead of my yarn bowl, then I’ll change it into a cake. Sometimes, it justdepends on my mood.
If it’s a large project or a small project with multiple parts of the same color I leave it in a skein. If it’s a small amount of yarn or if it’s a color I got for mostly accents and details I cake it. At the moment due to limited space most of it gets caked but I have a few large skeins sitting out like white because it’s used often.
If I buy yarn as a skein, I’ll go ahead and use it that way. When I’m about 2/3 finished with it, I’ll wind it into a cake. I dont like it when my yarn gets too floppy!
I have a cake winder that I usually use for my larger skeins. I don’t usually bother with smaller ones. However it all depends on the yarn barf trying to get a center pull. Please put a tab on the center pull string no matter what style you choose to make the yarn in. I know some like outside starts, put a lot of us like center pulls. I absolutely hate trying to find the center pull and having 1/4-1/2 of the skein come out. Then you have to ball it.
